Just before christmas I hooked up with my old friend Gorm and his team down at Bullet Creative to work on a website to commemorate the life and works of Ballet choreographer, Kenneth MacMillan.

The brief was to create something functional, contemporary, yet still quite classic looking.
We were provided with some wonderful imagery and the client was really good to work with and embraced pretty much everything we put in front of them.

The site was put together using Joomla and the tech guys over at Bullet whizzed through it at an incredible rate.

Here are a few of the key templates from the design and the actual site is up here.

Well... we've just finished work on a redesign for the Que Pasa website and while we've got two minutes spare waiting for our next project to come through, we thought it might be a fun exercise to put down a basic outline of the evolution of this project, from the initial pitch through to the final design solution, so potentially six months from now we can look back at this and (hopefully) see how our design process has progressed (or at the very least not regressed too much...).

This was a fun quick project with did with Adam Gee back in Channel 4's learning department.

It was basically a small booklet to accompany a new programme and campaign called "Little Darlings", highlighting the difficulty that parents often have bridging the communication gap with their children.

We were given no assets to work with and a really tight timeline (about 3 hours if I remember correctly) to come up with something to illustrate the subject matter, design the booklet and finally get it out to print.

Thankfully, this simple line art solution we came up with really did the trick. It conveyed the message nice and simply, looked great with the limited colours we were given to work with and meant that the deadline was met with time to spare!

Second up is a flyer we did for one of our own Electric Disco club nights from a couple of years back called "On the good foot".

Again, using a scan from an old 80's magazine, we gave the flyer the lo-res feel of an old school, screen printed poster.

The flyers and posters turned out pretty well but unfortunately the night itself was only short lived.

The Electric Disco itself is still up and running though and we're just in the process of resurrecting the site over at http://www.theelectricdisco.com

Check it out over the next few weeks and hopefully there will be some balearic mixes and downloads waiting for you.

We've just been going through the archives, having a bit of a spring clean and we've found some cool bits and bobs that we worked on a while back.
There's a mixture of flyers, old print work, logo design and a some bits from our sketchbooks. Have a look and see what you think and we'll add more as we find it!

First up is this flyer we did for Neighbourhood Bandits, an exhibition of BMX related photography, textiles and art work.

They wanted a lo-fi, old school feel to the design and I think the background, which we scanned from a photocopy of an old 80's BMX annual that we had kicking about gives it the vibe they were looking for.

Fun little brief and it was a great exhibition too!
