We were given no assets to work with and a really tight timeline (about 3 hours if I remember correctly) to come up with something to illustrate the subject matter, design the booklet and finally get it out to print. Thankfully, this simple line art solution we came up with really did the trick. The flyers and posters turned out pretty well but unfortunately the night itself was only short lived. They wanted a lo-fi, old school feel to the design and I think the background, which we scanned from a photocopy of an old 80's BMX annual that we had kicking about gives it the vibe they were looking for.
